Visitor Relations Volunteer

Hacienda Merida is currently seeking volunteers to welcome and chat with visitors about the education programs and construction projects at neighboring Ometepe Bilingual School. The Visitor Relations volunteer will understand and share the mission and vision of the school with international visitors, give tours or the school, and share information about volunteering, making a donation, and spreading the the word about the school on social media.

This is a visitor relationship management position with the goal of connecting with visitors in a friendly,open manner and developing socially conscious friendships that lead to supporting the school philosophically, financially, and as volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Greet Hacienda Merida visitors and chat with them throughout their stay about Ometepe Bilingual School
  
• Connect interested visitors to the school´s Facebook page and website, introduce them to the school founder, and link them to the Omprakash volunteer match/donation portal www.omprakash.org
  
• Conduct tours of the school and answer questions
  
• Keep records of visitor contact information for follow up
  

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (some Spanish and at least one other language helpful)
  
• Outgoing, friendly people person 
  
• Strike up conversation easily
  
• Genuinely passionate about the mission and vision of Ometepe Bilingual School and able to share that passion with diverse visitors
  
• Good follow up and follow through
  

Skills: marketing / outreach strategy, fundraising / grant writing, information technology / web consulting, psychology / social work / counseling, translation
